ONWARD TO ZION CHURCH was formed to serve God and his people in the Inland Valley. We are here to help individuals find God's purpose for them and to assist them in fulfilling His call in their life. We have people of all backgrounds in our congregation and want to further diversify because we are all God's children.
In this group of believers, all are welcome.
Our Foundation
OUR FOUNDATION IS JESUS CHRIST AND HIS TEACHINGS IN THE HOLY BIBLE, AND FROM THAT, ALL OF OUR THOUGHTS AND ACTIONS FLOW. JESUS IS LOVE AND HE TAUGHT US TO LOVE HIM AND ONE ANOTHER.
Sounds pretty simple, but we all need help to stay on course; the world we live in is full of distractions that tend to steer us away from our destination. God is working in each of us to help us achieve what He intends for our lives and for each of us that may be different.
God's work in us is more often evolution as opposed to revolution. We seldom hear him telling us exactly what He wants us to achieve in our life, rather He guides us a step at a time, when He determines that we are ready to take that step.
At Onward to Zion, we recognize that everyone is at a different step in their lives and that we all need help and encouragement to find and take that next step. We want to create a fostering environment where we worship, learn and fellowship together AND take the time to help each person find their way to their next step in God's plan for them.
Our Tenets of Faith
THE STATEMENT OF FAITH DOES NOT EXHAUST THE EXTENT OF OUR FAITH. THE BIBLE ITSELF - AS THE INSPIRED AND INFALLIBLE WORD OF GOD THAT SPEAKS WITH FINAL AUTHORITY CONCERNING TRUTH, MORALITY, AND THE PROPER CONDUCT OF MANKIND - IS THE SOLE AND FINAL SOURCE OF ALL THAT WE BELIEVE.
We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who is the Maker and Preserver of all things visible and invisible.
We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ: that Jesus existed eternally with the Father, became Man by the miracle of the incarnation, in no degree ceasing to be God. He is co-‐ Creator of the world and man, the only Savior, and coming Judge.
We believe the whole canon of Scripture (both Old and New Testaments), as originally given, to be the inspired and authoritative Word of God, of supreme and final authority in all that it teaches and declares.
We believe that all men are lost apart from the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ; that sin is cleansed only through personal repentance and faith in the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ; that water baptism by immersion should follow receiving Christ as Lord and Savior[...]
